I can not get any answers or direction from anyone. I called CA they have nothing and said they did not put the block on my license.
When I tried to get my OH plates, I was told there was a block on my license. I paid the balance due and they gave me the temp tag. They would not give me a temp tag until I paid my outstanding tickets. Instead of doing that, they told me to get a temp tag to get me from CA to OH instead of paying the high cost of plates in CA just to have to get OH plates when I arrived there. Pay your property tax and have the Tax Collector send the clearance to the DMV.
The days of super-happy-and-helpful IRS agents (which was the case, after the IRS was nearly abolished a few years ago) are clearly over. If you have outstanding taxes and your city or town has placed a block against you in the DMV system, you will not receive a renewal notice and the DMV will not be able to renew your registration.
